But its real value lies in what it produces. The process does not destroy the plastic: it transforms it into several products with industrial and energy value. Let&#8217;s look at what they are and what they are used for.<\/p>\n<h2>Pyrolysis oil<\/h2>\n<p>This is the main and most valuable product. <strong>Pyrolysis oil<\/strong> is a fuel-like liquid obtained by condensing the vapours generated in the reactor. It has two main outlets:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>As feedstock:<\/strong> it can be used in the petrochemical industry to make new products, closing the plastic loop.<\/li>\n<li><strong>As an energy source:<\/strong> it works as an alternative fuel in industrial applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Its quality and traceability are key to certifying it and selling it with added value.<\/p>\n<h2>Non-condensable gas<\/h2>\n<p>The process also generates a <strong>syngas<\/strong> that does not condense into liquid. In a well-designed plant, this gas is reused to power the reactor itself, reducing external energy consumption and improving the overall efficiency of the system.<\/p>\n<h2>Char (carbonaceous residue)<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>char<\/strong> is the solid fraction left after decomposition. It is a carbonaceous material that, depending on its composition, can have different industrial applications, from energy uses to material recovery.<\/p>\n<h2>From one waste to three resources<\/h2>\n<p>The great advantage of pyrolysis is that it turns a single problematic waste into three usable outputs.
